Own-CNIC checks only · Reviewed 29 September 2026 · Telenor’s own codes and rules, each with its date
Telenor SIM owner details are read from the Telenor SIM itself: text MNP to 667 from it and the reply gives the name the SIM is registered under, with part of the CNIC hidden. Every check on this page, from the SIM’s own number to the count on your 13-digit CNIC, answers for your own SIM or CNIC, and no official check names the owner of anyone else’s Telenor number. Below are Telenor’s own codes and charges, its helpline, its transfer terms, how to block a lost SIM, and where Telenor stands after its July 2026 merger into PTML.
Telenor SIM owner details: the 667 check from your own SIM
Telenor’s self-service code sheet, last updated November 2020, lists the 667 text as the SIM ownership check at Rs 2.39 including tax.
What each field in the 667 reply means, the activation date included, is set out on the number portability page.
If the reply names someone else, moving the SIM into your name runs through Telenor’s transfer terms; the rule behind it is PTA’s own-name rule.
Telenor SIM number check code: 7421, *8888# and the My Telenor app
An SMS to 7421, not *8888#, is the number check that Telenor’s code sheet lists; *8888# is the dialled USSD code that carries the grade community-confirmed on SIM number check code for every network, where the grades are defined and every network’s code sits side by side.
How to check Telenor number?
Send an empty SMS to 7421 from the Telenor SIM and the reply carries your number. With no credit, call 7421 instead: ProPakistani’s guide (3 March 2021) says the number then arrives as an automatic text. In the My Telenor app, the number shows on the home screen once you open it and tap Start.
When 7421 stays silent: 345 and the IMSI on the SIM
PhoneWorld’s guide (22 April 2021) notes that the 7421 text does not work on an inactive Telenor SIM. For one of those, call 345 and give your name, your CNIC and the IMSI printed on the back of the SIM, and the agent confirms the number. The call’s charge and the other channels are under Telenor’s helpline, chat and app.
Telenor self-service codes on its own code sheet
Telenor’s code sheet also lists two USSD menus, five balance and usage codes, a porting-status code, a promotional-SMS opt-out and the handset’s IMEI code.
| Code | What it opens or returns | Charge on the sheet |
|---|---|---|
| *710# | Self-service menu: PUK and PIN, own-number status, block and unblock, active offers, Smart Tune, Smart Share, balance usage, package information and change, the Sim Lagao offer, internet settings | Not stated |
| *345# | Self-service menu: 4G SIM check, 4G phone check, voice bundles, SMS bundles, internet bundles, bill and usage information | Not stated |
| *444# | Your SIM balance | 20 paisa plus tax (24 paisa) |
| *111#, *222#, *999#, *123# | Remaining SMS, voice, data and bundle allowance | 24 paisa each |
| *7637# | Your number-portability status | Rs 2 plus tax |
| *3627# | Stops promotional SMS: dial it, then reply 1 | 24 paisa |
| *#06# | Your handset’s IMEI; PTA’s status check for it is the IMEI check through 8484 | Not stated |
Telenor helpline 345, live chat and My Telenor app features
345 is the helpline for Telenor’s prepaid and postpaid individual customers, dialled from a Telenor SIM, and Telenor’s contact page (archived November 2024) puts the charge for a call connected to a Customer Relationship Officer at Rs 2.69 including tax.
For written customer support, the same contact page offers a live chat with a customer care agent from the corner of telenor.com.pk, and lists +92 42 111 345 100 as the phone number of Telenor’s Islamabad head office. The My Telenor app, on the code sheet’s list, shows call, SMS and data usage for up to 30 days, takes bill payments, recharges and complaints, and shows your balance free.
Telenor SIMs on your CNIC, and the 7751 verification code
The Telenor question your CNIC can answer is how many Telenor SIMs it holds: send your 13-digit CNIC to PTA’s 668 or enter it at cnic.sims.pk, both walked through on how many SIMs are on my CNIC.
The 8-SIM limit counts a CNIC’s SIMs across all networks. A Telenor SIM on the count that you never bought is covered in what to do when the count looks wrong.
Telenor’s verification-status code on PTA’s list: 7751
PTA’s verification-status page lists 7751 for Telenor, saying that any SMS to it from the Telenor SIM, even a blank one, is answered with whether that number is BVS-verified, and lists 7750 for the location of the nearest Telenor office or retailer. Read both codes as PTA’s undated listing; if 7751 gives no reply, the 345 helpline is the next step. BVS is the fingerprint match against NADRA made at the counter, explained in how SIM biometric verification works.
Telenor SIM ownership transfer: fee, documents and who must attend
Telenor’s change-of-ownership page (archived October 2023) takes a transfer at a Telenor franchise only, with the current owner and the new owner both there with their original CNICs, for a PKR 50 fee on normal prepaid numbers, and Telenor may turn down a request that misses any of its conditions.
Telenor’s terms (archived May 2023) run a change of ownership through the same fingerprint check against NADRA as a new SIM. Find a Telenor franchise; the steps every network shares are in SIM ownership transfer on every network.
| Situation | What the rules say | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| The registered owner lives abroad | Telenor’s transfer page links a separate procedure for this case | Ask 345 which documents that procedure needs; the rule every network shares is in transfers when the owner is abroad or has died |
| The registered owner has died | A family transfer with Telenor’s own document list | Use the list below |
| A postpaid SME (SOHO) connection, a transfer to the same CNIC, or a POR (Afghan card) holder moving a SIM to a CNIC | Telenor’s page rules out a transfer in all three cases | |
When the owner has died: the documents Telenor lists
Only a family member verified through the NADRA Family Registration Certificate, a sibling, parent, spouse or child, can take over a deceased holder’s Telenor SIM, and Telenor’s page (archived March 2023) asks you to bring these documents and details, all original except the copy of the holder’s CNIC:
- a photocopy of the deceased holder’s CNIC;
- your original CNIC;
- the original Family Registration Certificate from NADRA;
- the death certificate;
- an affidavit on stamp paper, in the wording the franchise staff give you, signed by you and a witness named in the Family Registration Certificate;
- the witness’s CNIC;
- the line’s last recharge amount, or two numbers it called often;
- an active SIM, or a SIM whose IMSI is visible.
Lost or stolen Telenor SIM: asking Telenor to block it
To block a Telenor SIM that is lost or stolen, have Telenor cancel it: ProPakistani’s guide (21 March 2022) gives two routes, a call to the 345 helpline to register the case and ask for the cancellation, or a visit to the nearest Telenor franchise.
How soon to ask, and what a late request means for liability, is set out with every network’s block route in blocking a lost SIM: the 24-hour rule and each network’s route.
Telenor merged into PTML in July 2026: what it means for your SIM
Telenor Pakistan amalgamated into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), the company behind Ufone 5G, with effect from July 2026, and the combined entity operates as a wholly owned independent subsidiary of PTCL. PTCL’s release of 1 July 2026 says Ufone 5G promised continuity of service for Telenor Pakistan and Ufone 5G customers during the integration.
The Competition Commission of Pakistan approved PTCL’s purchase of Telenor Pakistan in a Phase-II order on 1 October 2025, after an 18-month examination, and the Islamabad High Court gave the final statutory approval, after which Telenor Pakistan ceased to exist as a separate legal entity. Two related pages carry the rest: Ufone’s 2026 status, including the proposed e& rebrand, and Onic’s status after the PTA order.
Someone else’s Telenor number: what no code or website shows
No Telenor code, PTA service, app or website returns the name, CNIC or address behind a Telenor number you do not hold, and there is no public access to another subscriber’s record.
034 was Telenor’s access code in PTA’s 2008 numbering plan consultation paper; what a prefix can and cannot tell you has its own section on the number details page. If your own SIM is on Telenor, the operator’s code sheet lists 345 for complaints about obnoxious calls and fake marketing.
Sites and apps that claim otherwise are examined in the lookup sites that claim to name a number’s owner.

Questions people ask about Telenor codes
What is Telenor * 345 * 166?
*345*166# is a bundle subscription, not a SIM check. Telenor Pakistan’s own Facebook post advertises it as unlimited calls for 30 days, taken by dialling the code, through the My Telenor app or at the nearest retailer. Because the post’s text names no price, read the offer’s current terms in the app before you dial.
What is the code *514 for Telenor?
*514# subscribes you to the Telenor Mahana Budget package, which ProPakistani’s package page (updated 19 May 2026) describes as 30 days of 300 Telenor and PTCL minutes plus 10 minutes to other networks. Those were the package’s terms on that date.
How to on Telenor SIM?
A new Telenor SIM is activated by Telenor after the sale: its terms (archived May 2023) commit it to activation within 24 hours of a successful fingerprint match against NADRA, and say a SIM cannot be activated without that verification. A SIM still not working after 24 hours is a question for the seller or Telenor’s 345 helpline.
What is the Telenor free SMS code?
Telenor’s code sheet, in its November 2020 version, lists no code that gives free SMS. Text allowances come in SMS bundles, which the sheet places in the *345# menu (see the code table above); offers can also be activated and deactivated through My Telenor.
